THAT CHRISTIAN SIDE HUG

i am all too familiar with the christian side hug

Remember, kids: Jesus wants you to make every social interaction as awkward as possible.

I’M TRYING TO GET BETTER AT AVOIDING THIS I’M SORRY EVERYONE

They forgot the catholic “stand facing each other but very far apart, and lean in on your tiptoes so that only your shoulders graze and gingerly pat each other on the back briefly” hug.

That, my friend, has been dubbed the “A-Frame” hug. Recommended in Catholic missionary ministries. I know from experience. :P

I cannot stand pure ignorance.
ALSO, clarification.
having an exclusively biological cause does NOT equate to it not being chosen.
Most people admit that their it is a nature v nurture issue, while all the same admitting it is not a choice.
As I have said before, you have to understand that sexuality and same sex attractions are a spectrum, or you won’t understand bisexuality- how one could be attracted to both sexes not by choice.
Also, you may want to work on that whole “compassionate soul” stuff.

The thing that is really faulty with your argument, yescompassionatesoul, is that you’re equating sexual orientation with absolute moral truth. When yes, the Church talks about homosexual attractions as being disordered, it does not call that attraction sinful. Homosexual acts fall under the same category as people having sex outside of marriage. It is a disordered use of the sexual gift God has given us. But if you really looked at this blog, you’d see that he is living out a CELIBATE life. His acting on his attractions would be the same as me acting on my attractions to another man. Both sins, neither worse than the other. But he’s not and assuming that he is not being honest about who he is unfair. And saying that kind of stuff to someone is uncalled for. Please be considerate and think about responding to people with the same sort of compassionate love your URL says.

This is a Mormon missionary explaining “Catholic beliefs” to other potential missionaries who may encounter Catholics.

It’s just…wrong. Completely. It makes me sick, actually.
If any Mormon wishes to know what we actually believe, feel free to ask.

It is completely wrong. Everything he said was totally inaccurate. I feel horrible for anyone looking into the Catholic Church, finds this video, and believes what he says. It’s just so…wrong…

i had to stop i was laughing too hard

He’s trying so hard to sound intelligent but this is so so so so so so so so so wrong. GOD CAN’T LOVE ANYONE SINFUL. Okay….He obviously hated us so much when He sent His own son to die for us? And the saints were some superhuman savior-beings of goodness? Oh, right, EXCEPT FOR ALL THE PARTS IN ALL OF THEIR WRITINGS WHERE THEY ADMIT THEIR OWN SINFULNESS AND INADEQUACY.
And the last part? I really disbelieve that a seminarian said that. And if he did, he’s going to a bad seminary.

Someone please find this man so I can explain these things to him.

Everything he says is contradicted and proved false by ACTUALLY LOOKING AT THE CATHOLIC CHURCH’S TEACHING. I don’t know where this guy gets this stuff. The only reason we call the saints “saints” is because we know for a fact that they are in heaven. Has he heard of St. Augustine’s Confessions? Because he talks about his sinful past. Saints were sinners at one point. Every single one. Except Mary. But she’s set apart. And that we don’t believe God has mercy for us? I’m sorry, but has he even heard of St. Faustina and the Divine Mercy? There’s just so much wrong with EVERYTHING he says it makes me sad.

Can someone talk to me about the Catholic church a bit? I’ve been thinking about it a lot lately but I’m not sure if conversion is exactly right for someone like me. I’ve read up on the internet but it isn’t the same as having it personally explained what it’s like to be Catholic. Can someone help me out?

I’m totally down to talk about the Catholic Church. What questions do you have?
